Should I let my dog play tug-a-war with me?
I don’t see any reason why not.
It’s a great way to bond with your dog and also to use for training instead of food rewards, as long as you have taught basic manners when playing with a tuggy or toy.
So teaching a ‘get it’ command or similar to hold onto the tuggy (this stops snatching and mugging of the toy) and also a release word like ‘out’ or ‘enough’ which is just basic manners.
If you have these basics, you can happily play a good game of tuggy with any breed of dog.
